The brutal Infiniti Q60 Project Black S with F1 technology, each day closer to production

A year after the presentation at the Geneva Motor Show of the Infiniti Q60 Project Black S Concept , the Japanese brand of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance is finalizing the production version of that brutal prototype, which will take place in the next Paris Salon , in October.

As stated to CardAdvice the competition director Infiniti , Tommaso Volpe, they are already expecting components from different vendors to realize this radical version of the Infiniti Q60 Coupe , which makes little sense to use the electrification with technology derived from the Formula 1.

In principle this Black S would use the same 3.0-liter V6 biturbo that is marketed in the conventional model, but with a power of about 500 hp (instead of 405 hp), thanks to the electrical support of a KERS type system of energy recovery and a high-performance exhaust line made of titanium, among other things.

The system, which was not detailed too much in its day, consists of two electric motors / generators and a lithium-ion battery pack capable of storing all that recovered energy, both braking and exhaust gases. This additional energy can be applied again to directly move the crankshaft of the V6 and to spin the turbos.
A production car with high-performance hybrid technology inspired by Formula 1, which will enjoy a lot of power, torque and acceleration instantaneously and without delay, " said Infiniti, who has said that the model will have its own set-up for the suspension , in addition to tailor-made Pirelli tires, 21-inch wheels or various carbon fiber components .
Although Infiniti will show the "final version" of this bestial Q60 Coupé, at the moment has not been given green light for its production by the Alliance. In any case, if it is finally approved, it will not be available until at least 2020 .
